1. Structural Mechanics of Hydraulic Actuators

Hydraulic cylinders operate under high pressures (commonly 160 to 350 Bar) to generate high forces. Because hydraulic fluid is virtually incompressible, these systems provide precise position and speed control. Standard construction types include welded body cylinders (compact, ideal for mobile machinery) and tie-rod cylinders (bolted design, standardized for industrial plant machinery). The barrel is typically manufactured from cold-drawn, honed carbon steel tubes to ensure minimal bore friction and high tensile strength.
